100 gm fresh green chilies ( cut them into two)
1 tsp broken/ powdered mustard seeds
½ tsp aniseeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp coriander powder
½ tsp amchur powder / dried mango powder (optional)
Or ½ tsp lemon juice (optional)
A pinch of asafetida / hing
1tbsp mustard oil
Heat oil in a sauce pan. Once the oil is hot, tip in hing / asafetida, now add cumin seeds and aniseeds and let it cook for few sec , now add broken mustard seeds ( rai kid al)and stir well for 4-5 secs. Now add green chilies and sauté for 1-2 min.
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and stir it well.Now add salt and cover the pan and let the chilies cook for 2-3 min.
Add amchur powder and let it cook for another min.
Fried chilies is ready to serve ( as a side dish). If kept in a air tight container in refrigerator …this can be used for a week.
I prepare it when I am traveling and as I belongs to this Chili fan club ( I don't know any such club exist or not..but if it is than i will also apply for its membership ; ) ) i definitely prepare it once a month for me.
